As a Budget Analyst, you will:
- Perform a wide variety of highly complex administrative and analytical duties associated with the formulation, justification, presentation, execution, and review of an agency’s budget.
- Review, analyze and interpret legislation, authorization and appropriation languages, agency, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and Government Accounting Office (GAO) directives, and Treasury Department guidelines, congressional reports and draft legislation pertaining to a major segment of an agency’s budget.
- Recommend solutions to a variety of budget problems of an especially complex, difficult, or sensitive nature such as determining imputed impacts of investment decisions on overall deferred maintenance and asset condition index.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations on all aspects of assigned budget area to program officials and managers by providing interpretation of budget estimates and budget formulation guidance, and OMB and congressional policies and regulations.
