The pharmacist works in a large tertiary care medical center with a primary emphasis on outpatient care. The medical center is affiliated with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and the Rutgers College of Pharmacy.

The Pharmacy has three locations at East Orange, Lyons, and the James J. Howard Outpatient Clinic in Brick, NJ. Pharmacists may be asked to work at any of the sites if needed. These duties are expected to be carried out in an independent manner.
The clinical pharmacist is a licensed professional with knowledge and proficiency in pharmacy practice including pharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and pharmacotherapeutics. The incumbent is responsible for analyzing real and potential drug-related medical problems and implementing corrective action to ensure that patients receive optimal drug therapy. The clinical pharmacist also applies standards relating to all aspects of distribution and control of scheduled and non-scheduled drugs.
Work Schedule: Intermittent employees have no prescheduled regular tour of duty and are compensated when services provided.
