This is an open continuous announcement. The initial cutoff date for referral is February 22nd, 2021. After this date, the cut off dates are as follows:

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and individual states being in different phases of reopening, once the selectee becomes an employee, the report date to the official duty station/facility may be delayed until such time that management notifies the employee of their requirement to report. Until it is safe to relocate, the employee may be approved to telework to the maximum extent possible, up to and including full-time.
Qualifications
Minimum Education Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.

In addition to meeting the Minimum Education Requirement above, applicants must have the experience below.
For the GS-13, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: establishing software design concepts to craft standard system designs from existing system functionality and new user requirements; using Object Oriented programming and the latest tools to create new or improved methods and techniques in applications and system software; developing innovative software solutions using large volumes of data; using modern project management techniques; and providing technical insight and developing complex software systems using processes such as: data structures, computer system architecture, software engineering and computer communication.
Education cannot be substituted for experience for this position at this grade level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

- Knowledge of advanced concepts, theories, principles, practices, methods and techniques of software and computer science to investigate, analyze, define, design, develop, test, implement, and operate software systems.
- Skill in the analysis, evaluation, and application of sound computer science principles and techniques to resolve complex design and development problems.
- Skill in project management in order to multi-task and manage multiple small to large projects in a cross-functional environment.
- Ability to communicate in order to prepare, present, and explain technical information to various groups including leadership and other teams.
