The incumbent serves as the Roads and Bridges Maintenance Supervisor/Motor Vehicle Operator (MVO) for the entire George Washington Memorial Parkway system.
Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid. All travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the sole responsibility of the selected employee.

Physical Demands: Work is both sedentary and physical. Moderate physical exertion is required to lift, carry, and use hand and power tools. Required to walk long distances over roads and trails which may traverse steep terrain requiring heavy physical exertion. May be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds. This requires the incumbent to be in very good physical condition. The incumbent must possess good coordination and endurance for operation of vehicles, equipment, and power/hand tools.
Working Conditions: Incumbent will be expected to work outdoors in all weather, from high heat and humidity to extremes of cold, wind, rain, and snow. Will be exposed to hazards of high speed high volume roadways, uneven terrain, exposure to biting and stinging insects, poisonous plants, heavy equipment, and other dangers associated with this type of work. Incumbent will also spend a significant amount of time in an office setting, often sedentary, and will be exposed to hazards associated with that type of environment.
During emergencies that require 24 hour response over multiple days, incumbent may need to work shift rotations of 12 hours on/12 hours off.
