    This position is located in the United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Range Management Research Unit in Las Cruces, NM.

    This position will be embedded in an interdisciplinary team of scientists & land managers to improve & increase the accessibility of rangeland monitoring data, analysis tools, & decision support frameworks.

    This is a term, time-limited appointment with an initial duration no less than 13 months and can be extended up to a total of 4 years.

    • Provide guidance and assistance in organizing, analyzing, locating and evaluating a wide variety of biophysical and geographical information regarding vegetation or soil data.
    • Develop web-based tools, mobile and web-applications for ecological or biological data.
    • Design web pages, in consultation with scientists, to communicate complex scientific results regarding vegetation and soil research and to make data products available to users.
    • Use Javascript, Python, CSS, ReactJS, JSON, JQuery, Bootstrap, and/or Angular 2+ for web-based application or website development.
    • Coordinate with scientists and stakeholders for effective direction of database development.

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
