    Summary

    This position is located at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare System. The Training Instructor is responsible for instruction and delivery of courses on a regular basis for specific audiences including New Employee Orientation Talent Management System (TMS) course, Hudson Thomas Program course, leadership development training, team building, soft skill, and technical skill courses as well as other training required by the facility.

    Responsibilities

    Facilitates trainings on a regular basis for local TMS administrators, instructors, employees, and supervisors on the TMS database user interface.

    Instructs the TMS Service Administrators on a wide-variety of technical knowledge and skills to ensure SLVHCS meets all training goals.

    Develop and deliver training and support to all employees during New Employee Orientation TMS course; ensures access and navigation of computers/TMS.

    Develop and train multiple courses such as customer service training, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, etc.

    Train supervisors and managers on the management of staff in TMS.

    Performs complex technical duties associated with developing, revising, maintaining, and/or instructing training courses in the operations and maintenance of the TMS structure.

    Instructs, coordinates, and supports participants of the Hudson Thomas Program.

    Serves as a facility domain manager/administrator for the Talent Management System (TMS) educational learning enterprise.

    Coordinates TMS activities including managing administrator groups, disseminating TMS related information, ensuring TMS Service level administrators meet training requirements and database policy standards.

    Ensures mandatory training program is available for staff at all levels of the organization.

    Collaborates with other TMS Domain Managers at the VA, VHA, and VISN levels.

    Delivers briefings/reports regarding TMS as required to managers, supervisors, and other leaders.

    Performs work in an instructional design model consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation.

    Performs analysis to identify learning problems, goals and objectives, audience needs, existing knowledge, learning environment, constraints, delivery options, facilities, supplies, budget, and timelines for training projects.

    Constructs high-quality on-line computer-based training (CBT) modules, using current computer authoring and eLearning software applications (Adobe e-Learning Suite Dreamweaver, Captivate, Flash, Photoshop, Acrobat, Present, Microsoft, etc.) in the completion of TMS courses or other modalities.

    Provides expertise in the planning, development, and evaluation of education programs/projects/activities designed to achieve specific education goals and objectives.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm or 8:00am to 4:30pm
