    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    In this position, you will lead a team of professionals working toward the enhancement of an established organizational analysis program that includes tenants of threat/risk analysis, forecasting (predictive) analysis, and crisis action planning. Typical assignments include:

    • Formulating strategies that address the deployment and employment of resources (personnel, teams and commodities) including allocation to multiple incident/events.
    • Conducting a rapid analysis and interpretation of multiple streams of data and information to formulate contextual impact (damage) projections and development of recommendations (Courses of Action) in coordination with regional program leads and Emergency Support Function (ESF) partners for Regional response actions to leadership.
    • Conducting initial operational and post disaster strategic planning for active disasters.
    • Conveying technical information in written and oral formats to a variety of audiences, including members of the Senior Executive Service, through the facilitation of meetings, presentations and/or briefings.
