SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
In addition to the positive education requirement, a qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 (EN-00/NN-02 for NNSA Demonstration Project employees).
Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience supporting a team that provides guidance, oversight or technical evaluations of contractor operational and implementation plans that could impact the safe operation of industrial, nuclear or non-nuclear facilities and or/operations.
Examples of specialized experience include: Evaluating compliance with health and safety operating systems, processes, formality of operations, material flows, waste streams, instruments/alarms, control room practices, maintenance and construction, quality assurance, safety, health, and environmental activities, design, construction, maintenance or operational activities.
Education may not be substituted for specialized experience.

1. Knowledge of the safety analysis report and systems of the assigned facilities sufficient to draw from memory a diagram of safety systems and describe the basis, function, and operational characteristics of the system in the event that emergencies preclude immediate access to the relevant plans and specifications.
2. Knowledge of the current status of safety systems is required to be maintained through continuous site presence.
3. Knowledge of NNSA/DOE policies and orders, and national codes, regulations and standards in the areas of industrial safety, environmental protection, worker health and safety, nuclear/nuclear explosive safety, and/or quality assurance.
4. Ability to interpret, apply, and enforce these guidelines in the context of operations in assigned Defense Nuclear Facilities.
