    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    In this position, you will lead the an CSEPP Program as a Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist, within Technological Hazards Division. Typical assignments include: 

    • Leading the development and implementation of National program guidelines consistent with National Preparedness System elements.
    • Supervising and directing professional, technical and administrative staff engaged in the Headquarters management and program oversight. Assigns, evaluates and rewards work.
    • Overseeing programmatic life cycle cost estimate budget integration, execution and staffing requirements
    • Determining Program requirements in close coordination with partners at DOD, FEMA Regions, states, tribes and counties to include preparedness elements as well as planning to sunset the Program.
    • Representing the THD Director and Deputy at meetings, communicates with key officials within and outside FEMA on Division program matters to enhance capabilities and build resilient communities.
    • Acts as a technical advisor to the THD Director and as liaison to executive and congressional level inquiries and intergovernmental preparedness forums.

    50% or less - Occasional non-emergency travel may be required for this position.
