    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    In this position, you will serve as member of the FEMA Integration Team (FIT), as the Regional Tribal Liaison and assume the role of the Tribal Liaison Officer (SLO) during Emergency Operations Center activations and incident response activities. Typical assignments include:

    • Providing a continuous and coordinated FEMA presence in partner organizations before, during, and after disasters to enhance shared readiness.
    • Increasing the amount and quality of targeted tribal technical assistance to build capacity; address gaps, barriers, and delays in a more personal manner; and providing technical assistance prior to and after disasters.
    • Providing customers with increased access to FEMA personnel and the technical assistance they provide to help the Agency build a national emergency management team.
    • Enhancing the customer experience, building more resilient tribal communities, and ensuring more effective response and recovery operations when a disaster strikes.
