Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics):
1. Knowledge to perform combat arms training by presenting repetitive courses or designated blocks of longer courses and presents training material and instruction covering proper use of handguns, rifles, machine guns and other base defense/ground combat skills equipment, in accordance with approved lesson plans and course control documents.
2. Ability to oversee the work activities of subordinates and Traditional Guardsmen, and train employees in assigned duties and responsibilities.
3. Ability to manage and oversee the installation ground weapons training and maintenance program; serves as an instructor and inspects ground weapons.
4. Ability to perform and enforce the full range of security forces duties within the military installation such as being exposed to the day-to-day dangers associated with law enforcement and security duties, full powers to detain, pursue or direct detaining person(s) who attempt to flee crime scenes, an active shooter, or other means of resisting arrest, and carry a firearm as required or directed.
5. Conduct to represent the Security Forces Squadron (SFS) with a variety of installation and functional area organizations by providing SFS position on ground combat weapons issued at installation conferences and task group meetings, and coordinates and maintains liaisons with
local civilian agencies on matters concerning weapons training and maintenance.
