    Summary

    This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of the Actuary, Parts C & D Actuarial Group (PCDAG).

    As a Actuary, GS-1510-14, you will serve as a technical and actuarial expert for the modeling of Medicare and/or Medicaid program rates and estimates and analyzing Medicare Advantage (MA) and Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit annual bids.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide technical and actuarial expertise in the preparation of capitation payment rates required by law for the Medicare Advantage program and program rates required by law for the Medicare Part C and Part D programs.
    • Review and analyzes current professional literature and insurance and provider industry experience in order to detect any trends that may have a significant impact on the Medicare and/or Medicaid programs.
    • Develop actuarial data systems to analyze bidding data, assess bid parameters, and identify outliers for the MA program and the Part D prescription drug program.
    • Prepare correspondence on technical issues in response to public comments or requests for information on the Medicare and/or Medicaid programs.
