EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
In this position, you will serve in the new Office of Business, Industry, and Infrastructure Integration (OB3I) in FEMA's Logistics Management Directorate. Typical assignments include:
- Identifying and integrating internal programs and external capabilities, policies, procedures, practices and systems that may affect the entire agency in the areas of organization, resource management, and business administration.
- Analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, advising management on the effectiveness of programs and operations and the productivity and efficiency of organization and resource utilization.
- Monitoring organizational performance against strategic goals and missions.
- Serving in the National Business Emergency Operations Center (NBEOC) managing a complex portfolio supporting agency-wide cohesion in engaging business, industry, and infrastructure as part of Emergency Support Function #14 – Cross Sector Business and Infrastructure.
Occasional travel - Travel requirement is 10%.
