    The incumbent serves as the Director, Technical Assessment, reporting to the Director, Intake and Analysis Service, Demand Management Division, Enterprise Program Management Office, OIT. The incumbent is responsible for 4 providing technical analysis to major new development initiatives in current VA systems as well as providing for strategic and tactical planning for the initiatives and systems.

    Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary during the planning/preparation phase. The work may require walking and standing for prolong periods in conjunction with travel and at the onsite assessment location.

    Major Duties:

    • Overseas and develops strategic and tactical plans for design and deployment of the major initiatives in current systems.
    • Responsible for ensuring that technology assessments are performed as required to ensure that adequate and appropriate platforms and tools are available for the major initiatives and systems.
    • Works with subordinate offices, will also work with Product Lines to ensure that initiatives align with Product Line Management and DevSecOps. Develops procedures and systems for identifying, assessing, and reporting the effectiveness of major administrative and technical IT risk management controls at designated facilities VA-wide.
    • The incumbent meets with VA an external officials and presents information and takes positions which are consistent with the policies and thinking of the DCIO for the EPMO. Represents VA and development and architecture related government-wide an interagency joint studies, initiatives and policy development
