    Responsibilities

There is a need to multiple Office of Naval Research Science Advisor (SA) positions. SAs typically serve 3 year appointments and remain on the roles of their home activity. SAs serve on the staff of a major joint, Navy, or Marine Corps command; assist and advise the host Commander and staff in the identification of Warfighting Capability Gaps that have a critical impact on combat readiness; and serve as the primary interface between the command and the RDT&E community in finding & implementing solutions. As a Science Advisor, you must have a specific understanding of the current DoN S&T planning and experimentation process to focus on transition of technology. Positions require a TS/SCI clearance and the ability to go into the field. Typically, 20-40% of the Science Advisors time will be spent on travel. Top candidates have experience with senior-level briefings and negotiations concerning prioritization of technological requirements.
