    This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, Science and Technology Directorate, Transportation Security Lab, Atlantic City, New Jersey.

    The primary purpose of this position is to develop and deliver effective and sustainable technologies and systems to anticipate, prevent, defeat, and mitigate catastrophic terrorist attacks on the nation's homeland.

    Duties performed:

    • Manage and maintain the upkeep of TSL Energetic Materials Research Laboratory (EMRL) capabilities through laboratory operations and contract oversight.
    • Serve as an explosive material chemistry subject matter expert supporting internal Development Test and Evaluation or Independent Test and Evaluation activity test teams.
    • Provide laboratory support to trace and bulk test and evaluation teams.
    • Provide direction and support to applied research to develop feasibility data, which later translates into separate customer funded white paper efforts.
