    Salary: The salary range indicated in this announcement will be adjusted to include locality payment for selected duty location. General Schedule locality pay tables may be found under Salaries & Wages.

    Responsibilities

    In this position, you will become a key member of a team of Community Relations Officers in a pivotal role from day one. Your primary purpose will be to plan and maintain working relationships and open communication between Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the communities in which it operates to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the ICE mission.

    As a Community Relations Officer you will perform the following duties:

    • Developing and maintaining key relationships and promoting agency policies, initiatives, operations and programs with ICE stakeholders and throughout the community;
    • Developing, supporting and maintaining partnerships with federal, state, and local agencies to identify specific community needs and appropriate delivery and channels for service;
    • Working as part of a team to coordinate ICE's ongoing participation and attendance at local, regional, and national meetings/conferences; and
    • Analyzing and disseminating reports and statistics within the area of responsibility and other existing communication channels.
