    This position is located in the Office of Legislative and Public Affairs (LPA), which reports to the Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration, Bureau of the Fiscal Service. The incumbent develops legislative relations between Fiscal Service and Congress to advance Fiscal Service legislative initiatives and proposals.

    As a Legislative and Public Affairs Specialist, you will:
    - Formulate and advance legislative proposals on behalf of the bureau; serve as primary legislative liaison between Fiscal Service, federal agencies, House and Senate committee staff, Office of Management and Budget, and the Congressional Budget Office for purpose of guiding legislative initiatives through the legislative process.
    - Respond independently to media and congressional inquiries about Fiscal Service programs and activities.
    - Prepare senior executives for media interviews, external speaking events, congressional testimony, and video projects, creating briefing materials and talking points, providing strategic recommendations, and leading coaching sessions.
    - Oversee congressional correspondence, including customer inquiries and policy questions that involve coordination with senior managers and counterparts in Fiscal Service, Treasury, and other agencies.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Travel may be required 1 to 5 times per year.
