    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    In this position you will serve as a Systems Engineer (SE) in the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer within FEMA. Typical assignments will include:

    • Oversee the analysis, assessment, and evaluation of SE plans, reports and other related program documentation.
    • Analyzing needs and requirements information to develop specific objectives for SE related initiatives by ensuring that all objectives comply with Federal and DHS requirements.
    • Providing consultation, training and coaching to acquisition management employees on SE activities and operations.
    • Providing management and technical expertise in all areas of acquisition management, interface directly with DHS and FEMA, Federal, industry, and academia personnel in matters relating to policies, directives, procedures, and best business practices.
