WHO MAY APPLY: All qualified permanent and indefinite Title 32 National Guard employees who are currently working at the 139th Airlift Wing in St. Joseph, Missouri.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. GS-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess work experiences in technical inspection methods, principles and practices in order to recognize and resolve discrepancies; modifying established approaches, methods, or procedures to improve data gathering and analysis techniques; working with pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and precedents which affect the use of the Inspector General Programs; working related Inspector General programs that supported missions, identified capabilities, organizational structures, operational applications and operational techniques? Experienced and skilled in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Experienced in determining or designing actions to improve operational, technical, or administrative plans and programs. Experienced in military command structures, missions, programs, and organizational relationships. Experienced in developing inspector general program goals and objectives. Experienced in establishing the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions, as related to actual events. Must have completed the Inspector General Training Course-Inspection (IGTC-I) by the Air Force Inspection Agency (AFIA).
Must have prior Inspector General experience conducting inspections according to Commander's Inspection Program (CCIP) and AFIS standards.
Must possess an undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university which included completed academic courses in business management, English grammar and composition, speech, statistics, public administration, human resources administration, organizational development, public administration, behavioral social sciences, and psychology. A graduate degree from an accredited civilian academic college or from an equivalent professional military education school is optimum.
