As a Research Statistician, you will:
- Develop, identify, and apply appropriate statistical models and empirical techniques to analyze and assess the potential impact of financial, economic, political, and technological developments, as well as existing or proposed policies on the financial system.
- Work with other analysts both within and outside the OFR to monitor and assess the significance of current and future financial, economic, political, and technological developments, including producing memos and papers on such developments, occasionally under tight time constraints.
- Make recommendations to senior OFR staff concerning evaluation of existing or proposed policy issues. Develop proposals for studies related to financial stability. Frequently assist with studies of highly technical and complex problems issues assigned by the OFR Director, Deputy Director of R&A, or Associate Director of R&A. Work closely with the staff of the Data Center to define requirements for data and analytical tools.
- Interact and consult with peers in industry and academic communities. Establish and maintain personal contacts with professional staff within the Federal government, the private sector, academia, and other research communities to obtain or clarify information and or to plan or coordinate efforts to analyze questions related to the OFR's mission. Incumbent also is expected to make use of such contacts in furthering their professional development.
