    Summary

    Located in the APPLICATIONS SERVICE LINE, eASL, VistaA Apps, Health, Benefits, Memorial, Corporate (HBMC), Infrastructure Operations (IO), IT Operations and Services (ITOPS), Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) serves as Senior IT Specialist responsible for the full range of duties associated with the IT specialty area required to support the VistA APPLICATIONS Division in one of the following sections: FINANCIAL and ADMIN APPLICATIONS.

    Responsibilities

    This vacancy is open to employees of Office of Information and Technology (OI&T), IT Operations and Services (ITOPS), Infrastructure Operations (IO) only.

    : 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday

    Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary, but may involve intermediate periods of walking, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying,
    moving (up to 50 pounds) computer components and supplies, reaching, pulling, and working at a keyboard and monitor. Subject to call back outside tour of duty.


    Major Duties:
    • Reviews directives, policies, programs, enterprise-wide functional user requirements and acquisition
      strategies/vehicles for program related issues to determine the impact and implications in supporting information
      systems.
    • Participates in a team with others in a virtual environment accountable to the division chief. Develops and/or
      provides technical analysis of new and emerging technologies and their implications on the short- and long-term IT
      planning within a region.
    • Provides technical expertise and management on the implementation of assigned programs and projects.
    • Installs, updates, and troubleshoots systems/servers.
    • Troubleshoots hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
