    The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an expert senior Auditor who assists the Division Chief by performing in a key role involving management systems that establish highly complex auditing activities that allow for the appropriate and effective accomplishment of the organization's mission, and fulfill the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act mandated requirements for the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement.

    You are responsible for managing various functional areas of the Division, which include audit planning to maximize audit coverage of the nationwide program to ensure full compliance with the federal law's abandoned mine reclamation fee requirements.

    You are responsible for resource management to optimize the use of funds, by formulating and executing a cost-effective budget to support programs and policies.

    You will develop strategies and specific action plans to facilitate compliance with Title V by evaluating data to identify areas with a greater risk of non-compliance.

    You will meet with internal and external parties to coordinate efforts to promote cooperative federalism.

    You are responsible for identifying training needs and providing training in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) to support professional development of staff.

    25% or less - You may be expected to travel for this position.
