As a Financial Economist, you will:
- Serve as a technical expert on Treasury's suite of yield curves and, as such, serve as an advisor and consultant to top Treasury officials.
- Conduct in-depth technical research addressing critical policy issues such as the factors driving changes in U.S. interest rates, risks facing public and private pension funds, and income security of the aging U.S. population.
- Plan and execute reports on complex developments concerning financial and credit markets, with special emphasis on fixed income markets and the evolution of yields across the maturity spectrum. Continuously monitor a wide range of data concerning fixed income markets, such as ratings, bond pricing algorithms, par amounts outstanding, and other related items, and tracks the financial sector in general.
