    Serves as a Program Support Assistant to the Social Work Service within Patient Services. The incumbent will support Caregiver Support Program (CSP). The PSA will provide a complete range of program support duties which includes customer service and coordination; data analysis and graphing, special Caregiver Support Program projects, Caregiver Support Events, and performance measures reporting.

    Communicates regularly with the Veterans and caregivers enrolled in the program; serves as the point of contact for the Caregiver Support Program and provides vital administrative program information to the caregivers, Veterans, VA approved providers, and other VA staff. Handles requests for information such as status of reports, suspense dates, etc. for matters requiring compliance and similar information on behalf of the CSP.

    Assists in the enrollment of Veterans and caregivers in the program, the coordination of services, and scheduling resource training. Supports the preparation, modification, and issuing of all authorizations of care for approved services by ensuring proper documentation and adherence to timelines; tracks, reviews and processes invoices for these services. Works with program participants and vendors to resolve problems with authorizations.

    Aids the Clinical Eligibility Team in determining program eligibility of new Veterans and caregivers by providing potential program participants with the required documentation and ensuring they complete it properly. Coordinates with VA Eligibility, travel, VA Fiscal, Fee Basis Service, and other departments throughout the facility to ensure access to needed services and a smooth transition through the continuum of care.

    Collects necessary data including the number of Veterans and caregivers enrolled in each program, visit compliance, active applications, application processing time, Clinical Eligibility Scheduling, and other relevant program data. Compiles data from the Caregiver Record Management Application (CARMA) and applies basic analytical methods to help ensure the medical facility and VISN 15 meet program goals and guidelines.

    Maintains and tracks program census and assists in the preparation of all program reports. Tracks internal reviews, action items, quality measures, and the efficiency of the Caregiver Support Program. Maintains Caregiver Support Program databases.

    Assists with registering participants, scheduling locations, securing promotional items, and set up for the Annual Caregiver Support Fair and other special events.
