Area of consideration is for employees of Birmingham VA Health Care System only and CBOC employees, Canteen Service (VCS) employees who have completed 90 days of continuous service in the VCS, and all permanent IT employees who are assigned to the Office of Information and Technology(OI&T).
Operates all automated prescription dispensing equipment throughout pharmacy. Inventories all controlled substances that are required to be counted and verified according to policy. Reports discrepancies to supervisor or pharmacy management immediately after all efforts have been made to reconcile. Conducts regularly scheduled inventories and interacts with controlled substance inspection officials.
Maintains prescription fill documents and prescriptions hard copies for accountability. Provides excellent customer service throughout the medical center and assists non-pharmacy personnel in a professional manner. Organizes/files documents and prepares them for records disposition in accordance with regulations. Answers incoming telephone calls by identifying service and self in a professional and timely manner. Correctly packages prescriptions for shipment by regular, certified, registered or express mail and delivers to the correct designated area for processing outgoing mail. Maintains good records concerning express mail of all packages and documents. Assist in other areas as assigned to maintain the consistency of the overall pharmacy service, to include other appropriate assignments or duties.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm
