GSA’s Office of Information Technology Category (ITC) provides access to private sector IT & telecommunications solutions for federal, state & local government agencies. ITC works with federal agencies, OMB & industry to create common solutions for IT services, hardware, software, telecommunications, cyber security, & identity management. 98% of federal agencies use ITC solutions. ITC works with the Office of Federal Procurement Policy & the Office of the Federal Chief Information Office to develop & implement acquisition and technology initiatives such as strategic sourcing, category management, cloud, cyber, enterprise licensing agreements for software, desktop configurations & data center optimization. ITC plays a unique role in supporting agencies with acquisition & technical expertise to make better buying decisions reduce duplication & improve mission results.
Major Duties
1. Procures a variety of goods and services, both commercial and non- commercial, using various buying programs and techniques. GSA procurements range from the simple to the complex, to include purchases of: Highly technical services or IT systems/subsystems to include integration services, software, hardware, maintenance and related services, a wide variety of product purchases such as furniture, office supplies, hardware, equipment, and more; an extensive variety of professional services such as engineering, business process improvement, consulting, etc., travel and transportation and light, medium, and heavy duty vehicles, trucks, and other vehicles.
2. Leads pre- and post-award activities for procurements of Government-wide importance such as: Market research, Requirements development of Drafting solicitations, Seeking sources, Developing source selection strategies, Analyzing technical and price proposals, Negotiating price/terms and conditions, Forming contracts, Conducting debriefs, Resolving protests and Contract administration of Contract closeout.
3. Serves as a consultant and trusted business advisor to both internal and external customers and stakeholders. Provides timely and efficient support, technical guidance and advice regarding all contracting matters.
4. Delivers world-class customer service with an emphasis on customer requirements and relationships to achieve results that serve to further the mission of agency clients within the acquisition framework.
