    About the Position: Contract Specialist for pre-award and post-award functions, including acquisition planning, price/cost analysis, negotiation, administration, coordinating, and controlling the full range of contracting functions from receipt of the requirement through contract close out. The MVD civil works mission includes projects in support of navigation, hydropower, flood damage reduction, recreation, emergency management, and the regulatory program as well as support for others.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform acquisitions for supplies and services, architect-engineer (A-E) services and construction in support of the New Orleans District, Mississippi Valley Division, and other Corps Districts.
    • Perform pre and post-award functions, including acquisition planning, price/cost analysis, negotiation, administration, coordinating and controlling the full range of contracting functions from receipt of the requirement through contract close-out.
    • Award various types of contracts to include, but are not limited to, Firm Fixed Price( FFP),Fixed Price Incentive ( FPI), Cost Plus Award Fee (CPAF), Indefinite Delivery Contracts (IDC), Time and Material, Letter contracts.
    • Procurement methods such as two-step design build; multiple and single award A-E Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ); multiple and sign award Construction IDIQ and/or negotiated best value fixed price and cost reimbursement contracts.
