    Summary

    Due to the Pandemic, and individual states with different phases of reopening, the selectee’s report date to the official duty station/facility may be delayed until such time as employees are allowed to report to the workplace. The person selected may telework up to the maximum extent possible, up to and including full time, until it is safe to relocate.

    Responsibilities

    Performs a combination of routine and multiple and varying tasks/assignments under the general direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced employee. Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team for projects/programs within a defined area of responsibility. Provides high volume production for a variety of highly complex electronic and environmental equipment, systems, and specialized projects for numerous customers located throughout the National Airspace System.

    Applies experience and detailed knowledge to assist in preparing production plans for specific projects and operations through compilation of customer requirements, engineering designs, and specifications. Schedules and controls primary work assignments for manufacturing design and repair activities based upon shop capacity, priority and due date. Determines the status of work in progress and time required to complete the job. Expedites jobs in progress by any appropriate means. Monitors, records, and reports the status of production funding. Assists with planning, evaluating and providing division project and fiscal authorizations for operating programs such as E&R/ R&R. national modifications, development and fabrication projects; engineering development support; highly specialized projects; supply support and a wide range of support to aeronautical divisions.

    Works under general instructions provided by a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced employee when assisting with planning immediate and future production control, monitoring, estimating and coordinating projects in his/her assigned programs. Assists with formulating schedules for the manufacture, repair and modification of a broad scope of highly complex electronic and environmental systems, and their component parts used throughout the National Airspace System. Reviews schedules and identifies equipment on the shop report list which justify shop repair. Assists in recommending additional commercial repair or the deletion of items as necessary to reduce demands on the shops to the level which can accommodate the number of positions allotted to each program. May recommend reprogramming of positions between work centers as necessary to accommodate changing situations.

    The controller must be able to assist in preventing or alleviating production delays and scheduling conflicts. Assists with analyzing production schedules to support the: forecast offends allocation and distribution. Establishes controls and benchmarks in computerized program production management system and through manual process to permit measurement of progress; assists with identifying critical paths and highlights fiscal and physical problem areas. These controls and benchmarks are used to assure projects are completed with allotted funds and required schedules. Demonstrates some independence in planning time and using assigned resources when assisting with determining which projects can be rescheduled to accomplish emergency Workloads based on knowledge of agency's requirement and FAA Logistics Center' commitments.

    Provides historical data related to assigned programs. Compares current historical data with current objectives to assists with measuring production and cost. Assists with coordinating project development and progress with engineering and shops personnel. Adjusts schedules to compensate for increase or decrease in project requirements. Disseminates information concerning work projects. Assists in coordinating with other organizations to resolve conflicts in work schedules.

    Analyzes information received from work areas, consolidates into easily interpreted form for monthly and annual records or displays. Provides information for design for statistical charts, graphs, and other displays depicting work progress, present and future workload capabilities for use in the division.

    Occasional travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis. The travel may be for training or other work-related duties.
