    Summary

    This position is located in Smithsonian Exhibits (SIE), Smithsonian Institution. The employee works in the development and maintenance of production and resource allocation schedules, coordinates and facilitates the day-to-day technical operations of the Shop, and monitors the shipping and receiving of materials and exhibitions and serves as installation leader.

    Responsibilities

    • Leads the work performed by the Graphics Production Shop.
    • Works closely with SIE’s Director, Deputy Director, Chief of Graphic Production, Supervisors, Project Managers, and other SI staff in all areas of exhibition planning, design and production, with special focus on exhibit fabrication. This work involves providing expert advice on technical methods, materials, costs, staff allocation and processes of the Shop’s work. Provides SIE Cost Estimator labor and material take offs and estimates for upcoming projects.
    • Responsible for the review of exhibit designs, FDA files and assessment of requirements to print and install exhibit graphics.
