- Reviews existing policies, issuance, and directives on an ad hoc basis as substantive issues arise in the course of assignments and recommends refinements to these guidelines.
- Represents the Bureau at meetings and conferences, typically as an observer, as directed by his/her supervisor or higher level manager.
- Supports higher graded analysts by independently conducting assigned segments of projects involving development, implementation, or monitoring of sophisticated management information systems that focus on the Bureau's progress.
- Builds professional networks of professional contacts by engaging members of other federal agencies, including the National Security Council, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and Department of Defense (DoD).
