    There is an anticipated vacancy for multiple General Engineers with the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD), Port Hueneme, CA. NSWC PHD is one of eight Divisions within the Naval Sea Systems Command's (NAVSEA) Naval Surface Warfare Center and provides test and evaluation, systems engineering, Combat Systems installation and modernization, integrated logistics support, in-service engineering and integration of surface ship weapons, combat systems and warfare systems. NSWC PHD is located on Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC), approximately 60 miles north of Los Angeles near the communities of Oxnard, Ventura, and Camarillo, CA. There are also opportunities for positions located in San Diego, CA. and Virginia Beach, Virginia.

    The primary responsibilities of this position is to provide coordination and government oversight of contractor work during the installation, check-out, and testing of ships' self-defense weapons and combat systems (ex. Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS), AN/SPQ-9B Radar, NATO Seasparrow Surface Missile System (NSSMS) and Interior Communications and Alarm Systems (IC-SWBD. Voice, Alarm Panels)) during Chief of Naval Operations Maintenance Availabilities (SRA, DSRA, CMAV). In this position, the incumbent serves as the primary lead for the Ship Defense and Expeditionary Warfare Department, Modernization and Installation Division, managing modernization work on US and Allied Navy ships and systems. The incumbent will; ensure contractor performance meets contractual requirements; adheres to US Navy maintenance and Modernization policies and regulations; conforms to engineering and technical specifications; adjudicate deficiencies and discrepancies with installation documents; develop and maintain installation production schedules, review production and cost reports to ensure cost and schedule adherence, and work with installing activities to ensure on time delivery of ships' systems.

    Applicants will be evaluated on: 1) their technical project management abilities, analytical, writing, and oral communication skills; 2) their problem solving abilities; and 3) their interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop strong relationships and demonstrated success in working independently and as part of a team. In addition, an applicant's ability to concurrently manage multiple production and/or technical issues posed by customers, supervisors, and peers to ensure assigned projects meet quality, cost, and schedule is highly desirable.
