As a Supervisory Statistician (Education), the incumbent will perform the following duties;
-Plan, guide, and manage the activities of the Annual Reports and Information Staff in all stages of conceptualization, development, implementation, and evaluation. The staff develops in-depth analytical studies of national trends and policy-relevant issues at all levels of education, which are of concern to the Department, other federal agencies, the legislative branch of the federal government, and the education community.
-Direct and monitor the production of highly technical reports and publications, such as the Digest of Education Statistics, which detail the methodology employed, the results, and the conclusions reached.
-Serve as a nationally recognized expert and spokesperson for NCES and the Department of Education on emerging education issues of national and international importance.
-Perform the full-range of first-level supervisory duties, including negotiation and coordination of time allocations for assigned staff, as required given the distribution of workload and staff priorities.
