    The Step-Down Unit Nurse Manager is assigned to the Nursing and Patient Care Service at the Boise Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The Nurse Manager executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex patient care. Incumbent has programmatic responsibility for the VA nursing staff, services, and/or processes within the specified area(s) of assignment.

    Duties include but are not limited to:
    Promotes a team approach to patient care and develops staff for leadership activities and mentors them to promote achievement

    Ensures compliance with applicable clinical practice guidelines within the scopes of each member of the nursing staff in his/her areas

    Maintains a positive and productive working relationship with other supervisors in the assigned areas

    Develops, implements, and maintains a systemic process for unit-specific competency review and continually evaluates the currency and applicability of the competency review program

    Demonstrates advanced leadership skill in developing, implementing and evaluating holistic and quality patient care delivery processes for a group of patients through the utilization of the nursing process

    Designs and employs various processes to facilitate the development and implementation of strategic goals and plans aimed at meeting patient care needs and performance measures

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30 am to 4:00 pm, with one week day off per pay period
