The New York Harbor Veterans Health care System- Manhattan Campus is currently recruiting for one (1) Lead Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT)-Mammo for the Mammography Section of the Imaging Department. This Lead DRT is responsible for Breast Imaging Services at all campuses of the VANYHHCS. This Lead DRT duty location will be Manhattan with rotations at the Brooklyn and Queens campuses as needed.

Some of the Major duties for the Lead DRT are as follows:
- the performance of all mammography breast imaging procedures (screening, diagnostic, needle localizations, etc.)
- organizing and maintaining a comprehensive Quality Assurance program including documentation
- the performance of all Quality Assurance activities in mammography
- the performance of interventional breast procedures
- the coordination of breast imaging services (mammography, sonography, breast MRI, breast radiology interventions) for all inpatients, outpatients and interfacility consults (IFC) from any facility
The Lead Mammography DRT coordinates activities in breast US and breast MRI but does not perform those studies.
- maintenance of MQSA certification for the Mammography Program
- maintenance of ACR certification in mammography, tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, breast ultrasound interventional procedures and stereotactic biopsies.
- Maintenance of compliance with relevant Joint Commission requirements
- supervision of mammographic diagnostic radiologic technologists
- participating in and representing the Radiology Service during all internal and external inspections
The lead mammography DRT technologist manages the Mammography Section (50 %) and provides clinical services (50 %) in mammography and in general radiography at all campuses of the VANYHHCS.
The lead mammography DRT technologist rotates to any campus operated by the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System to provide radiological services based on patient care and staffing needs.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm with rotating WHEN hours. (Weekend, Holidays, Evening, Nights)
