This position is located in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research, Office of Intelligence Operations and Oversight (INR/OPS). INR/OPS coordinates sensitive civilian and military intelligence and counterintelligence operations and programs, and provides support for Chiefs of Mission in the exercise of intelligence oversight responsibilities. Serves as a subject matter expert on Congressional and legislative affairs. Provides policy recommendations on legislative matters to senior officials.Learn more about this agency
- Analyze new legislative proposals and initiate projects to identify the significance to the Department’s mission, work closely with regional and functional bureau front offices and the office of the Legal Adviser to provide advice and guidance.
- Develops and coordinates policy on sensitive legislative activities. Performs special research projects with regard to complex legislative proposals and Congressional hearings.
- Create and maintain the legislative monitoring of historical data for the Bureau. Coordinate and review Congressionally mandated reports to be submitted to Congressional Committees.
- Undertake new projects to broaden and deepen INR’s relationships with Congress , working in close coordination with the Bureau of Legislative Affairs and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence .
