    Responsibilities

    • Identifies and analyzes individual and organization skill or knowledge deficiencies and developmental needs in Fire and Aviation Management by on-site evaluation.
    • Plans and administers a diverse range of aviation field and program operations with complicating variables by serving in a variety of aviation and fire incident management assignments.
    • Addresses critical trends or situations that require correction.
    • Develops Interagency, Regional, Interregional and local Aviation Management curriculum, courses and training materials.
    • Develops course objectives, including instructional and performance objectives, prepares and develops course content and format.
    • Plans instructional aids and test measurements or designs them as needed for course and student evaluation' and makes short and long-range updates and changes in course packages as necessary to maintain validity and currency.
    • Supervises one or more detailers to accomplish administrative tasks, i.e., preparing materials for distribution, developing audio-visual aids, instructions, etc.
    • Makes lesson assignments specifies timelines, reviews training material, evaluates instructor effectiveness and recommends appropriate changes of instructional method.
    • Coordinates educational efforts for stable and established programs or projects. Serves as coordinator for Interagency, Regional and Interregional Fire and/or Aviation Management courses and workshops.

    • Performs wildfire suppression support as directed within training and physical and other duties as assigned.
    • Duties listed are at full performance grade GS-11 level.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel overnight on fire suppression or fire related assignments for this position.
