    Responsibilities

    Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Buffalo Field Office, Human Capital Branch of the Mission Support Division.

    This position starts at a salary of $79,533.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $103,397.00 (GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $103,397 (GS-12 Step 10).

    You will coordinate and perform a wide variety of administrative and management services essential to the operations of the office:

    • including, but not limited to, management and information systems, telecommunications, budget, finance, procurement, human resources, training, logistics, property, space, records and files, printing and graphics, mail, travel, and office equipment) and serve as an advisor to management on assigned administrative matters.
    • conduct or participate in the evaluation of administrative programs, systems and methods and identify ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these services at the local level.
    • represent the office in dealings with vendors and organizations within the agency that have primary responsibility for these services.

    Your area of emphasis will be human resources management. As such, you will serve as a liaison between the organization's management and the Office of Human Resources Management (HRM). In that capacity, you will work with HRM to resolve personnel and pay problems and prepare and review requests for personnel action, ensuring they are complete, accurate, and within space and budget controls. You will provide advice on such matters as procedures and options. You also will process in all employees new to the organization, monitor vacancies and on-board data, advise management of payroll changes and provide assistance and coordinate the processing of OWCP injury cases.
