The incumbent serves as Lead Program Support Assistant for Primary Care of the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System. The incumbent will be primarily located at either the VA Medical Center, 6900 N. Pecos. The direct supervisor is the Administrative Officer for Primary Care. Performs a variety of administrative tasks within the organization. Processes incoming and outgoing materials such as correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication. Performs the following types of duties: edits letters and reports, reviews correspondence for accuracy and completeness, prepares public presentation outlines, and develops standard or form letters and replies to inquiries. Prepares a variety of recurring reports, reviewing outgoing correspondence for proper attachments, or consolidating/coordinating submittals of information. Researches files and assembles background information on the subject of incoming material prior to referral. Responsible for scheduling conference rooms.
Responsible for processing training requests/documents for all the signatures in a timely manner.
Responsible for ordering supplies. Serves as the Lead to all Program Support Assistants at the GS-06 level within the Care Line. Provides day-to-day instruction, orientation, training and work assignments to Program Support Staff. Provides instruction to employees on specific tasks and job techniques and makes available written instruction, reference materials and supplies, as well as giving on the job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices. Incumbent will check on work in progress or spot check work not requiring r3eview and review completed work to see that supervisor's instruction on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines have been met. Will amend or reject work not meeting established standards, refer to supervisor questions or matters not covered by standards and problems in meeting performance standards, and will monitor working conditions such as seating, ventilation, lighting, safety, etc. Has access to confidential issues and matters. Responsible for entering pertinent information into an automated tracking system. Schedules appointments, coordinates meetings, and/or schedules conferences. Serves as the Primary Care Travel Arranger.
Performs work related to the acquisition and/or development of program information and resource materials/personnel to support the police development and/or technical activities of an organization.
Serves as the alternate timekeeper for Primary Care.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
