The FHFA Records and Information Management Specialist works in the Office of Technology and Information Management (OTIM) and provides technical assistance in the program area of records and information management within FHFA.Learn more about this agency
Under the management of the Supervisory Records and Information Management Specialist, the incumbent is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the full range of policies, procedures, training, tools, and techniques for FHFA's records and information management program, including agency forms and policies.
Assists in providing subject matter guidance and training to employees and contractors on records and information management practices, policies, and Federal records management requirements.
Assists in the development of records and information management training materials and tools for employees and contractors, including records liaisons. Training materials are subject to supervisory review.
Assists in coordinating projects and programs affecting the creation, maintenance, use, disposition, and preservation of records, regardless of physical form, to ensure compliance with FHFA's policies and procedures.
Drafts policies and procedures for records and information management to assure that the FHFA records and information management program operates in compliance with National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and FHFA requirements.
Assists in maintaining and implementing the agency's records retention and disposition schedule and developing records schedules.
Coordinates the transfer of permanent records to the NARA and temporary records to the Washington National Records Center (WNRC).
Serves as a member on project teams on records and information management issues.
Assists in maintaining the agency's forms and policies program.
Assists in developing file plans for administrative and program offices. Helps to ensure records liaisons are trained to effectively use their file plans and are following the appropriate records retention and disposition authorities.
Assists in preparing reports, developing databases and tracking tools, and administering projects for the Supervisory Records and Information Specialist and the Records Officer on a variety of subjects.
Attends meetings and seminars on records and information management issues as a representative of FHFA. Briefs the Supervisory Records and Information Management Specialist and the Records and Information Management Specialist on new developments of interest to FHFA.
Serves as an alternate Contracting Officer Representative (COR) on contractor-supported initiatives related to records and information management.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
