1.Employee must be a citizen of the United States by birth or naturalization.
2. Employee must have moral attributes and personal traits that demonstrate adherence to Army and Air Force Values, and the Army Civilian Corps Creed.
3. Employee must have no record of criminal punishment except for minor offenses or derogatory information contained in IG records as screened by the USAIGA and SAF-IG.
4. Employee will be required to attend and successfully complete the Headquarters, Department of the Army Inspector General Course and the Secretary of the Air Force Inspector General Inspector General Training Course for Investigations and successfully complete the Department of the Army Inspector General Refresher training as required by The Inspector General of the Army, and the Air Force Worldwide Training Conferences as required for refresher training.
5. Employee will be required to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance. A minimum of an interim secret security clearance is required before an individual can perform any IG functions or have access to IG records. Inspector general positions are designated as noncritical sensitive. Positions requiring a higher clearance level must be designated as such in accordance with DOD 5200.2-R and validated by the Office of Personnel Management's Position Designation Tool.
6. Irregular and overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.
7. Position requires travel to support National Guard units statewide. The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
8. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved inadvance by TAG.
9. Applicants referred for consideration will be subject to a database check against the Army Inspector General Action Request (IGARS) and the Air Force Complaints Resolution (ACTS) databases to screen for adverse information, substantiated allegations, and ongoing IG investigations. A social security number (SSN) is required to conduct the background investigation; applicants must supply their SSN when asked by the hiring authority.
If you are claiming solely Education as your experience then the below information is applicable:
GS-11 - 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or 1 year equivalent to at least GS-9 (2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree) or LL.M., if related to the position you are filling.
Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified in the table, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level applicants for positions at grades GS-9 and GS-11. (When crediting education that requires specific course work, prorate the number of hours of related courses required as a proportion of the total education to be used.)
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience - Successful completion of a 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree equates to the Specialized Experience to qualify for the GS-11.
You must provide transcripts. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify
or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
