Serves as the Store Administrator and Assistant Store Director, fully participating in the management of all store activities. Provides management advice and guidance to other store division managers, as necessary. Assists managers in the development of major programs and departmental goals and objectives, setting specific priorities and schedules to complete work. Through subordinate supervisors is directly responsible for all activities of the Front End Department, Customer Service Department, and Store Operations Department. Manages all functions associated with store accounting and budgeting, ordering and receiving, personnel liaison actions, development of performance plans, public affairs programs, EEO, coordination/liaison with the host command; and other business administration aspects of the commissary. Promotes the goals and objectives of EEO and Affirmative Action Programs.
Position responsibilities include:
*Serving as the Assistant Commissary Officer, responsible for all store administration functions, and fully sharing in the overall management, direction and control of the commissary.
*Analyzing a variety of management reports to determine efficiency of operations and to recommend or implement changes.
*Developing budget estimates and monitoring program obligations and expense targets.
*Acting as store sanitation coordinator; establishing controls for prevention of pilferage and ensuring that sanitation, safety and security precautions are observed.
*Responsible for all personnel functions within the commissary, such as staffing, recruitment and the development of performance standards.
*Promoting DeCA goals and objectives of the EEO and Affirmative Action Program.
*Representing the commissary at a variety of commander's meetings, such as the Commissary Advisory Council and Base Civil Engineering meetings.
*Monitoring surveys, customer service training, and customer's suggestions and ideas.
