The incumbent serves as a support scientist responsible for Research and Development (R&D) activities within the Core Laboratory. The Core Laboratory operates instruments for short and long read DNA/RNA sequencing, profiling of microbial metabolism, continuous culturing of microbes and cell lines, proteomics and metabolomics, mammalian cell culture and gene editing.
- Generates and analyzes RNA-seq and Iso-seq data for genome annotation, and immune repertoire sequences for immunogenomics.
- Operates instruments for short and long read DNA/RNA sequencing, profiling of microbial metabolism, continuous culturing of microbes and cell lines, proteomics and metabolomics, mammalian cell culture, and gene editing.
- Designs and performs pilot experiments and feasibility testing on all platforms, and addresses compatibility across platforms to ensure the end product meets the needs of the project assigned.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
