The GS-12 salary range starts at $86,355.00 per year.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-12:
In addition to the Basic Requirements listed above, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service: Specialized experience is experience in historical architecture practice which demonstrates knowledge of the field of historic preservation i.e., historic building research, survey, analysis, construction and architecture and related disciplines such as archeology, materials conservation and preservation theory and law; ability to effectively lead others in managing major historic preservation projects; knowledge of the methods used in conducting public affairs duties for preservation issues; expert technical knowledge of architectural conservation principles and practices; skill in developing, negotiating and researching contracts for preservation studies; and ability to review and interpret architectural drawings.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-13:
In addition to the Basic Requirements listed above, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service: Specialized experience is experience in the field of historical architecture practice, which includes: preservation/restoration design, project and construction management; historic building technology and materials preservation, specifically related to monumental buildings; and familiarity with related disciplines such as, but not limited to, archaeology, preservation theory and law, engineering, planning, architectural history and historic building data management. This experience must have involved utilization of both proven and innovative preservation techniques, specifications writing and cost estimating, , technical advisory services with the appropriate methods and materials to be utilized in late 19th and 20th century buildings, and expert skill and diplomacy explaining and promoting the preservation perspective to both internal and external stakeholders.
