As a SECRETARY (OFFICE AUTOMATION), you will:
-On own initiative observe need for administrative or procedural notices or instructions to the staff, prepare necessary issuances and present them for signature.
-Prepare correspondence, reports, forms, tables, and other materials using word processing software.
-Arrange travel for staff, including scheduling transportation, making hotel reservations, keeping in touch with staff enroute, and preparing travel orders and vouchers.
-Keep the Supervisor's calendar and schedule appointments and conferences without prior approval, and ensure that the Supervisor is fully briefed on the matters to be considered before the scheduled meeting.
-Based on organizational needs/setting, may handle the time and attendance for any number of staff.
-Based on organizational needs/setting, may handle Government purchase card transactions for authorized purchases.
-Perform other miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience for the GS-8 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-7 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes:
- Experience tracking time and attendance.
AND
-Experience writing and editing administrative or procedural issuances.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-8, you must have been at the GS-7level for 52 weeks.
