    Summary

    You will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist (Strategic Communications) in the Uniformed Services University Office of the Vice President for External Affairs (VPE).

    Responsibilities

    • You will work with colleagues to define, assess and implement a University-wide strategic communications vision that unifies messaging for USU, supports and advances its academic goals, and meaningfully engages all internal and external stakeholders.
    • You will promote a positive public image among the University?s various audiences and advance the University?s efforts to raise awareness in support of the organization?s mission.
    • You will liaise with internal stakeholders across the University to assist in ensuring their communications needs are understood and met within the strategic and operational planning framework of the University.
    • You will help prepare campus leaders and members of the University community for organizing and delivering key messages, develop talking points for appropriate employees, media, and for public interactions.
    • You will plan, develop and direct marketing efforts for the University and its schools, programs, and centers.

    Occasional travel - Travel is dependent upon position description and availability of funding.
