    Responsibilities

    • Performs UNIX system administration and hardware/software management for the enterprise DLA computer operating environments.
    • Ensures computer hardware or peripheral maintenance to include diagnostic testing, configuration, installation, and repair of all original components as well as upgrade and add- on components.
    • Ensures all UNIX operating systems software, production libraries and files are backed up as documented in the local agency disaster and continuity of operations (COOP) plan and properly maintained at an alternate site.
    • Provides technical advice, guidance, and assistance to agency developers and technicians in the area of UNIX systems services and administration to include problem analysis, (cont.)
    • (cont.) application of various technologies and administrative techniques, UNIX systems hardware and software configurations and current system functional capabilities and limitations.
    • Participates on Process Action Teams (PAT) to define and coordinate new/changed computing environment requirements.
