    In this position, you will be considered an expert practitioner in analytical laboratory analysis, and is responsible for coordinating analytical testing services, reviewing results, and providing technical advice in response to requests for information from both internal and external customers. you will need to exercise independent judgment, to perform work of marked difficulty and responsibility requiring extensive professional, scientific, or technical training and leadership skills.

    • The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity. The duties may include, but are not limited to:
    • Plans significant projects, advises on improvement of instrumentation or procedural methods, and ensures that special equipment is procured, modified, and installed.
    • Uses imitative, resourcefulness, and past personal experience to deviate from established approaches ans precedents to develop methods and procedures.
    • Maintains through knowledge of the operating principles and calibration procedures for analytical instrumentation and technology.
    • Conducts new and complex analyses of grains and oilseeds in support of on-going Agency activities.
    • Thorough knowledge of food technology, analytical and physical chemistry principles, theories, practices and established methodologies,
