The Systems Modeling and Optimization Branch (Code AFO) at Ames Research Center is seeking a skilled Computer Engineer to support the Aviation Systems Division mission to perform world-class research and development in air traffic management.

    • Works within an organization with the mission to design and develop software applications and systems for complex flight vehicles and airspace operations.
    • Participates in the research and development of concepts and technologies in air traffic management, new vehicle entrants into the aviation system, and autonomous operations applications.
    • With guidance from senior computer engineers and researchers, explores, develops, tests, and deploys new aviation technologies that leverage cloud computing and data science practices.
    • Works in an agile software development environment.
    • Engages in critical research development directed towards discovering, disseminating, and applying new or expanded knowledge in methods of evaluation.
    • Participates in a range of tasks for aeronautics and aviation automation.

    Occasional travel - Travel may be required for training or other work-related duties
