The Behavioral Health (BH) Outpatient RN is a registered nurse who will utilize the nursing process and evidence based practice in order to coordinate the care and services for patients in the BH Outpatient Clinic. The RN is a key member of the Core Team (patient, behavioral health provider, RN care manager, and patient support) and Expanded Team (family/caregiver, internal and community-based services involved in providing care to the patient), promoting effective communication and ethical practice.
The RN functions within their Scope of Practice to provide expert care management of the delivery of care that assures continuity of care and peer accountability for practice, including problem resolution, de-escalation, and psycho-education. This RN is expected to function as an expert in clinical practice, including the areas of medical and psychiatric emergencies, medication compliance, assessment, social skills and patient safety to patients receiving outpatient care.
This RN provides guidance to assist in the development and support of staff using proficiencies and standards of nursing practice. This RN is also responsible and accountable for maintaining training required and may be assigned additional duties that reflect the educational, experiential, and competency requirements outlined in the four dimensions noted in the Clinical Nurse Path.
- Monday through Friday: 8:00am to 4:30pm
Physical Requirements: Heavy lifting, 45 pounds and over; pushing; reaching above shoulders; use of fingers; use of both hands required; walking 8 hours; standing 8 hours; repeated bending; climbing legs only; both legs required; near vision correctable at 13" to 16" to Jaeger 1 to 4; both eyes required; ability to distinguish basic colors; hearing (aid permitted); emotional stability; far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and 20/40 in the other. May be required to work with assaultive or combative patients.
